ENJOY THE MOMENT

Writer's picture: Rachel RodriguezRachel Rodriguez

School is out for summer!! I am so sorry for my absence. With school promotions, end-of-year programs, award ceremonies, and events, I have been a little busy.

My daughter's elementary school surprised the 6th graders with an all-school clap out. It was truly amazing! The “seniors” of elementary felt so loved. What a great way to honor them.

My daughter is already missing school and her friends. However, the boys are enjoying being able to sleep in. I am just glad to have them home. However, check back with me in a week or two. I may have a different story then, LOL!

What are you planning this summer now that the kiddies are out? I know many of us still have to work and many are from home. Given gas prices these days, this is a blessing.

As for me, I am learning to slow down and enjoy the moments. Enjoying the little things, instead of always "being busy". After all, doesn’t our heavenly Father teach us how to wait.. wait before him? Do we allow ourselves to be in His presence, to listen to His voice?

There are times when we can become so busy with our lives that we miss opportunities to spend time with our family and friends, as well as with God. Slowing down and taking the time to savor these moments strengthens us, lifts our burdens, and helps relationships thrive.

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. Psalm 62:5

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Psalm 37:7

“Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10

I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

“So, you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.” Hosea 12:6

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! ~ Psalm 27:14

But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.
